Workshops
Multimedia content, ranging from text, images and videos to audio, obtained from users and physical devices opens new opportunities for analysing and interpreting multimodal information. By combining intelligent environments with online social networks, Social Intelligent Environments can draw on rich and diverse sources of data. This workshop explores artificial intelligence techniques for extracting, fusing and analysing these sources, with particular emphasis on their inherent heterogeneity.
The workshop focuses on intelligent solutions for social media processing and the integration of different types of multimedia data. It brings together research on extracting knowledge from user-generated content and combining information across multiple feeds to enable practical applications in social media analysis and intelligent environments.

Advances in artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, IoT, edge computing and digital twins are transforming intelligent environments and the skills needed to develop them. Skills4IE’27 explores how to prepare the future workforce when AI is changing both the systems people build and the ways they learn and work.
The workshop connects three perspectives: the technical and transversal competencies required by future professionals; approaches to learning in computing and engineering education; and credible assessment in the age of generative AI. It brings together researchers, educators and industry practitioners to examine systems reasoning, human–AI collaboration, critical evaluation, verification and responsible decision-making, and to identify practical directions for curricula, learning and assessment.

Technology and nature are increasingly intertwined. Environmental sensors, artificial intelligence, adaptive buildings, robots, digital twins and immersive media measure, model and shape living beings, materials, climates and ecological processes. TechnoNature explores this interdependence and the questions it raises for the design, evaluation and governance of intelligent environments.
The workshop brings together researchers and practitioners from computing, engineering, environmental science, architecture, design, the humanities and public policy. It provides a forum for comparing concepts, methods and evidence across disciplines, examining the consequences and responsibilities of technonatural systems, and developing a shared research agenda for this emerging field.

Intelligent environments increasingly rely on foundation models, edge intelligence, autonomous agents and connected sensing. These capabilities enable adaptive services but also introduce security risks and dependencies across devices, organisations and cloud-edge infrastructures. CRIE explores how these systems can remain secure, privacy-preserving, explainable and operationally resilient under real-world threats.
The workshop brings together research on trustworthy agentic AI, Zero Trust architectures and collaborative threat intelligence. Proposed by the Cyber-Resilience Synergy Network, it connects technical approaches to cyber defence with human–AI collaboration, effective oversight, data sovereignty and interoperability. Its aim is to identify shared design priorities and research directions for trustworthy, cyber-resilient intelligent environments across application domains.

Digital twins connect measurements from physical assets with historical data, asset descriptions and computational models, enabling AI-based forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance and operational optimisation. IoT2DT explores how heterogeneous IoT devices, data sources and AI services can be integrated into dependable, testable and reusable intelligent environments, with a particular focus on renewable-energy systems.
The workshop brings together researchers and practitioners working on IoT, digital twins, AI, smart grids and experimental infrastructure. It focuses on platforms that combine data sharing, simulation and machine learning with validation in living labs and field deployments. Key themes include sensing quality, interoperability, model fidelity, cybersecurity and measurable operational value, with methods that can transfer to other intelligent environments.
