Call for Special Session Proposals
The 23rd International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE 2027) invites proposals for special sessions to be held as part of the conference programme.
Special sessions provide a focused forum for presenting and discussing emerging research topics, interdisciplinary challenges, innovative applications, or rapidly developing areas that complement the main themes of IE2027. They are intended to bring together researchers and practitioners working on a clearly defined topic and to stimulate exchange between established and emerging research communities.
Special sessions will normally consist of a coordinated set of peer-reviewed paper presentations and will generally occupy one standard conference session scheduled within the regular conference programme.
All papers submitted to an accepted special session must follow the regular IE2027 submission and peer-review process. Accepted special-session papers are expected to be published in the IE2027 proceedings. Authors may submit either a Full Paper (up to 8 pages in IEEE conference format) or a Short Paper (up to 4 pages in IEEE conference format). Both categories will undergo peer review according to the conference’s scientific standards.
For each accepted paper, at least one author is required to register for IE2027 at the applicable standard registration rate and present the paper (in person or online) during the special session.
Submission Requirements
Special-session proposals should address one or more topics of interest to IE2027. Proposals must be submitted in PDF format and include the following:
· Title of the proposed special session.
· An abstract of approximately half a page explaining the topic, objectives, relevance, and relationship to IE2027.
· Names, affiliations, email addresses, and short biographies of the special-session organisers.
· A list of proposed topics of interest.
Responsibilities of Special-Session Organisers
Organisers of accepted special sessions organisers will be responsible for:
· Promote the special session within relevant research and professional communities.
· Encourage high-quality submissions.
· Establishing a suitably qualified programme committee.
· Organizing and coordinating the submission and peer-review process;
· Ensure that all papers undergo a rigorous and timely peer-review process.
· Communicating with authors regarding reviews, revisions, registration, and presentation requirements;
· Preparing the final workshop programme; and
· Coordinate the session and chair it during the conference.
Acceptance of a special-session proposal does not guarantee the acceptance of individual papers. All submitted papers should be evaluated according to the same quality criteria as regular IE2027 submissions.
